STUPID Masculinity comprises of ten portraits vigilantly chosen from a wide collection of photographs produced from individual shoots taken with ten participants, exploring their individual ideas around the topic of masculinity. Photographed within a studio environment, allows for consistent lighting throughout the imagery, drawing focus towards each subject within each photograph. 

Providing an aesthetic vehicle for self-expression and acceptance, STUPID Masculinity allows the conversations between photographer and participant to be shared in a non-judgmental, safe environment, elevating questions around masculinity away from their usual ‘toxic’ stigmatisation, as well as its relevance within today’s society. STUPID Masculinity aims to start the deconstruction of stereotypes, whilst breaking down the barriers that society has formed, aiming to allow the celebration of the word masculinity.
